2022 Holiday Gift Guide

I have to admit, I love gifting. Taking the time to find something I know will enhance someone near and dear’s life brings me joy. Gifts do not need to be expensive or even bought, an act of service is a gift. Sometimes I love giving hand made gift certificates for a foot massage I will give or home cooked meal for a busy friend. Gift giving is a common tradition for the holidays this time of year but it is truly the thought that counts. For those of you looking for that something special, here is my 2022 holiday gift guide.

I do often focus my gift guide on the kitchen as it is my sweet spot and one of the areas in my life, I am hyper focused on but I also have included some lifestyle pieces. And I have included two newly released books from friends of mine I admire and am enjoying turning the pages myself. I have featured small business, local when possible, artisanal and made with thought and care in mind. I hope you enjoy this small guide and happy holidays.

I ordered this ring in gold last year. It is stunning. I love the organic feel. I am including the bronze on my list because it’s a great price point and I love how bronze patinas. It’s available in silver too. Check out her whole line. All of it, covetable and made from 100% recycled materials, locally in California. And Amanda Hunt is offering Amalgam readers a lovely 20% discount on the ring in both bronze and silver with the code Amalgamkitchen20 until December 19th.

I am a fan of Kendall’s collections, jewelry, bags and accessories. I am always needing a carry all, ask my husband. I love this elegant, black, goes with everything yet organic tote. Kendall is offering a site wide 15% discount with the code ANNA15 until December 16th.

Louesa is an Ojai local and creates fantastical and magical flower and nature arrangements. This book is a collection of her work and belongs in your friends’ libraries and coffee table book collections.

Jules is a dear friend of mine and a true inspiration in the kitchen and in life. This book invites you to get to know yourself through the intimate connection to the kitchen, cooking and food in a truly soulful way. It’s a must.

I adore Tart’s inventive vinegar. The labels are fabulous. A must have for the foodie’s in your life. I know she will inspire those you love too.

I am always looking for unique vessels for tea, flours and spices. Look no further. Created by Belgian born, Los Angeles based artist, Humble Ceramics pieces embody a beautiful earthiness.

This handy, foldable shovel made by one of my favorite outdoor gear companies is super handy and will be on my list. I need it for the vegetable garden I just planted. Works well as camping gear too.

I have worn a lot of clog type shoes in my decades in the kitchen. These by far are the most comfortable kitchen clogs ever. I live in them while I cook and they have great colors too.

Simone’s gift baskets are elegant, tasteful and are imbued with self care in mind. Who do you know who doesn’t need a little self care? This basket will luxuriate your loved ones, with a thoughtful hand picked selection. Simone is offering a 15% discount with the code AMALGAM15 until December 19th.

Ojai Roots began as a pet project during COVID but quickly turned into a successful little farm business, shipping hand picked produce all over the country. Everything is organic and grown in Ojai. If you are a local, you get a lovely little discount.  Ojai locals receive $5 off farm boxes with the code AMALGAMKITCHEN through December 31st.

I always like to include an olive oil on my gift lists. It’s kind of turned into a little tradition for me. Olive oil is a staple in my house and I love discovering local makers and trying a new oil. This one is organically grown, hand harvested and pressed in Santa Barbara and is absolutely delicious. A bottle was given to me recently for my birthday.
